BDMPC AND SSS FORGE LANDMARK PARTNERSHIP TO EXPAND MEMBER SERVICES IN BOHOL
A significant milestone in strengthening financial accessibility for cooperative members in Bohol was achieved on April 13, 2026, as the Social Security System (SSS) and the Bohol Diocesan Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BDMPC) formally entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The ceremonial signing, held at the Lady of the Assumption Parish Rectory in Dauis, Bohol, marked BDMPC’s official accreditation as a collecting agent for SSS premium remittances and loan payments.
The event commenced at 2:30 PM with an opening ceremony that included a prayer, the singing of the national anthem, and hymns symbolizing unity and shared purpose between the cooperative and SSS. This was followed by welcome remarks from BDMPC HR Manager Mr. John Lopfer C. Polinga, who underscored the importance of the partnership in advancing financial inclusion and improving service delivery to members.
Messages of support and cooperation were delivered by key representatives from both institutions. Ms. Jocelyn M. Tagoctoc, General Manager of BDMPC, highlighted the cooperative’s readiness to take on its new role in facilitating SSS transactions. He was joined by Mr. Eric A. Coronado, Acting Head of the Visayas Central 1 Division of SSS, who expressed the agency’s confidence in BDMPC as a reliable partner in extending its reach to grassroots communities.
Further emphasizing the collaborative spirit of the initiative, messages of partnership and collaboration were given by Msgr. Jeffrey P. Malano, JCL, Chairperson of the BDMPC Board of Directors, and Atty. Alberto L. Montalbo, Senior Vice President of the Visayas Operations Group of SSS. Both leaders highlighted how the partnership aligns with their shared mission of providing accessible and efficient financial services to the public.
The highlight of the event was the MOA signing proper at 3:05 PM, participated in by the aforementioned officials along with other key officers. Representing BDMPC were Assistant General Manager Ms. Shirlene B. Asoy and Internal Auditor Ms. Corazon A. Pacatang, whose presence signified the cooperative’s strong institutional support for the initiative. The event was also attended by officers and personnel from SSS Manila and SSS Tagbilaran, reflecting the nationwide importance of the partnership.
With the agreement now in effect, BDMPC members can conveniently pay their SSS contributions and loan obligations directly through the cooperative. This development is expected to significantly enhance convenience, reduce travel time, and promote consistent compliance among members, especially those in remote areas.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Dioscoro M. Madanguit, Acting Head of the SSS Tagbilaran Branch Office, followed by a photo opportunity capturing the historic collaboration.
This partnership stands as a testament to the shared commitment of SSS and BDMPC to empower communities through accessible financial services, marking a new chapter in cooperative and government collaboration in the province.
